A disputes practitioner with over seventeen years at the Bar, whose work has been central to the development of India’s insolvency and bankruptcy jurisprudence.

Mr. Dasgupta established Dasgupta Chambers in 2026 as an independent disputes practice focused on insolvency, commercial, banking and finance litigation, and oppression & mismanagement cases. He regularly represents lenders, promoters, Resolution Professionals, acquirers and other stakeholders before the NCLT, NCLAT, High Courts and the Supreme Court of India.

A 2008 LL.B. graduate of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Mr. Dasgupta began his career with Bennett Coleman & Co. before moving to corporate law firm J Sagar Associates. In 2013, he joined Dhir & Dhir Associates, where he spent close to five years building an insolvency practice through the foundational years of the IBC regime. In 2018, he joined HSA Advocates as Associate Partner and subsequently became Partner, leading insolvency and commercial disputes matters for a national roster of banks, creditors and corporate clients for eight years.

Landmark · Synergies Dooray

He was subsequently part of the first resolution plan approved by the Principal Bench of the NCLT at Delhi, and has continued to appear in matters of systemic importance to creditor rights, the interplay between the IBC and other statutory regimes, and the governance of corporate resolution.

Beyond litigation, Mr. Dasgupta regularly delivers guest lectures at law schools and professional forums on insolvency, debt recovery, and creditor-rights law. His published commentary has appeared in the financial press, including analysis of the Supreme Court’s ruling in the JSW Steel – Bhushan Power & Steel matter.
